Ice Hockey
Fort Zumwalt South Hockey Club sponsors a Varsity, JV and a spring developmental B league ice hockey team that play in the Mid States Club Hockey Association (MSCHA). We provide student athletes in 7th - 12th grade that reside within the Fort Zumwalt South boundaries the opportunity to compete for and represent their high school.

Costs
Team fees for the 2026-2027 ice season for Varsity/ JV are TBD.
This fee covers MSCHA league fees (cost of ice & referees), practice, practice games and referees, player attendance at the end of season banquet and all club expenses.
Uniform package is not included in the player fees and will be an additional charge.
Uniforms
The Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs Hockey Club requires all participating players to purchase the uniform package for the teams they will be rostered on.
There are two (2) separate uniform packages:
1) Varsity
2) JV/ B Team
Each uniform package includes:
- Two (2) game jerseys [home & away]
- Two (2) sets of socks [home & away]
- One (1) shell [Varsity/JV only]
- One (1) reversible practice jersey
Approximate cost of a new game uniform package is $300.
eligibility
Varsity & JV
Players in 9th - 12th grade are eligible for the Varsity & JV season. No exceptions for players not in high school.
There is no eligibility restriction for the Varsity & JV team based on AAA, AA, Central States, Central States Prospects, etc.
B Team
Players 8th - 10th grade are eligible for B Team. Players in 7th grade are eligible for B Team as long as they also meet the age requirements to be 14U Bantam in youth hockey. No 6th or 11th graders can be rostered regardless of their birth year.
**2026 B Team players will have a birth year of 2011, 2012 and 2013.
You cannot participate in B League if you currently play or are rostered for the 2026-2027 season for ice hockey on:
- Junior Elite, Tier 1, AAA St. Louis Blues, AAA Lady Blues or AAA CarShield
- Central States Bantam Major, Midget Minor and Midget Major
Games & Practices
Practices
Varsity & JV practices will occur 1-2 times per week from September through mid-February.
B Team practices will occur 1 time per week from March through mid-June.
Practices will be held primarily on Sunday evenings at the Wentzville Ice Arena. Occasional sheets of ice may be obtained on different days and or at different rinks based on availability.
Games
The Varsity & JV season will run October through February. Number of games and season start date are TBD.
B Team league will run March through June. The league schedule typically consists of 10+ league games plus a few practice games.
All games and practices will be reflected in Crossbar.
Registration Requirements
Required Actions
USA Hockey - All Varsity, JV & B Team players must have a current USA Hockey number in order to register for FZSBHC.
SafeSport - All Varsity, JV & players with the birth year of 2009 or older is required to complete the online SafeSport training. This must be completed in order to be included on the roster submission to MSCHA.
Register for FZSBHC - Click the link to register for the upcoming season. Payment information will be entered at this time as well as your jersey number request. You will need the below documents ready to upload in order to complete registration.
Required Document Upload
Insurance Card - All Varsity, JV & B Team players need to provide a copy of the front and the back of their health insurance card. This will be uploaded as a part of the club registration process.
Academic Eligibility - All Varsity, JV & B Team players need to submit a copy their previous school year's report card from the 2nd semester of the 2025-2026 school year. This will be uploaded as part of the club registration process.
Birth Certificate - All Varsity, JV & B Team players need to provide a copy of their birth certificate to FZSBHC. This will be uploaded as part of the club registration process.
Mid States Definitive Emergency Medical Care Consent - Each player must have a completed Definitive Emergency Medical Care Consent on file to participate in any FZSBHC ice hockey event. This form is available at the below link. This will be uploaded as a part of the club registration process.
26-27 V/JV Evals
BASECAMP + EVALUATIONS
Skaters & Goalies: $100 Registration Fee
There is a $100 registration fee to participate in the FZS evaluations. This fee will be applied towards your Fall Varsity/JV dues upon registration for the upcoming season.

Sunday, 7/12 from 5:40pm to 6:40pm
Sunday, 8/2 from 7:10pm to 8:10pm
Sunday, 8/9 from 7:40pm to 8:40pm
Sunday, 8/23 from 7:40pm to 8:40pm**
**Varsity & JV rosters will be announced
All skates will take place at the Wentzville Ice Arena.
Attendance at a minimum of one (1) skate prior to 8/23 is STRONGLY encouraged to be properly evaluated.
